Hello, I'm BJ,(Beverly June). I breed the TOY POODLE, YORKSHIRE TERRIER, and now, we, my husband Frank and I, have added the Sleeve Dog of China, known as the CHINESE IMPERIAL DOG AND THE LARGER SHIH TZU, to our kennel. These breeds are small, friendly, fun loving, and intelligent. They have captured our hearts.

Our Breeding Formula

We, first and formost, breed to the standard of the breed. We do this by selecting good stock with healthy back grounds. Secondly we breed for good health, and our third goal is to have wonderful temperments. Having a little fur companion around, that is healthy and joyous, is the perfect pet.

Where Our Puppies Are Housed

Our fur babies are raised in our kitchen, our family room, and they have a bedroom too. Mom and puppies are always near by for me, and my husband to careass, cuddle, hug or just say hi to. We watch over them, and love them and give them the leadership that they desire. This gives them security and makes for happy social little beings. The puppies are always inside our home. They never touch the outside ground until they leave our home. If we keep one longer than usual then he or she would have to of had their full series of vaccinations before we allow them to step outside. Every effort is made to keep them healthy. Mama goes outside daily, when she wants, for exercise and a little play. We have a doggie door to make life easier for everyone.

My Devotion To Dogs

My love of dogs started as soon as I could walk and talk. I had my first puppy at age two. From that point on, I could not be without a dog. My love of the beautiful Poodle started when I was a teen. My first Poodle was named Suzette. She was a white wild creature that I did not understand very well.I have since learned much, and now know that she was wild because of my energy at that time. I had my mind scattered on many levels, and was thinking of so many different things, as young women do. I was without much knowledge of what dogs really need from humans, which made her energy level unsure and flighty. I didn't realize our vibrations were similar because I could have never looked at it that way back then. With age comes wisdom. Back then, I gave love and cuddles, at the wrong time, and didn't know how to correct behavior that I didn't want. I only knew I loved her, but I didn't know how to give her what she wanted and needed from me. Honestly, I didn't think much about what she needed from me. I thought that giving her a home, food and me was all she needed. Thank goodness times have changed, and I have learned many lessons.

Chinese Imperial Dog & Yorkshire Terrrier

Over the years, I fell in love, with a couple of other wonderful loving breeds. The fun loving Yorkshire Terrier, and the little clown of the bunch, the CHINESE IMPERIAL DOG which was once known as the Sleeve Dog at the Palace Kennels in China. These tiny dogs were prized by the Empress and never left the Palace. The tiny dogs were the dogs the Empress strived for, as they were exactly the perfect size to keep in the long sleeves of the womens gowns in the Palace. The eunics were the care givers of the kennels. They sometimes were allowed, or did manage, to take the larger dog, the Shih Tzu, out of the palace and give as gifts. These are the dogs that later were taken to other countries and became known as the Shih Tzu. All are non-shedding, but high maintenance,IF, you don't keep them groomed at a short puppy length, which I recommend. This grooming can be done at home and only brings you closer to your fur baby than you could ever imagine. Of course you can always go to your favorite groomer and just request a puppy clip. This cut is easy to maintain and the dogs don't require constant brushing. Just a weekly brush will do. The beauty of the dog is, they don't hold anything against you. even when you don't know what your are doing. They accept you totally. They may not totally respect you as a leader, but they love you never the less. And you probably don't know the difference either. You still enjoy each other regardlessly. My home is never empty, and rarely quiet. There are always happy wagging little tails, and precious beating hearts that keep the house alive and full of joy. May you have the same in your home, if that is your desire.
